Air Monitoring
AAS can provide an on-site air monitoring and fibre counting service, accredited by UKAS to ISO 17025, to assist clients in various ways to enable them to comply with their statutory obligations.
We are able to offer the following air monitoring services:
- Background testing to enable the client to be aware of the fibre concentration in the air prior to any asbestos disturbance.
- Leak testing to confirm the integrity of an enclosure built to contain any asbestos remediation or removal works.
- Compliance testing to ensure the 4hr and 10min control limits are being adhered to.
- RPE assessment to ensure the Respiratory Protective Equipment used during asbestos works is suitable and adequate.
- Clearance monitoring to ensure the fibre levels within an enclosure are at the clearance indicator level before the enclosure is removed.
- Reassurance monitoring - after works are completed we can provide the monitoring of ambient air fibre levels to measure the continuing air quality.
All procedures are in accordance with the Guidance within HSG 248 The Analysts Guide. In conjunction with our UKAS accreditation we participate in the RICE scheme (Regular Interlaboratory Counting Exchange) to continually monitor the standard of our service.
