Asbestos Surveys
Under the Duty to Manage' requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations, which came into force on 21 May 2004 and were revised in 2006, it is now necessary to manage any asbestos containing materials within commercial premises to reduce the risk of exposure to asbestos.
We are able to offer assistance at all stages of this management process including carrying out asbestos surveys to the relevant standard, formulating asbestos policies, preparing and issuing site registers and supervising remediation works on asbestos materials.
We can advise on the type of survey specific to your needs:
Type 1 - Location and assessment (presumptive survey). To be notified in writing.
Type 2 -Standard sampling, identification and sampling (Standard Survey). A detailed report with colour photographs, findings and recommendations will be provided.
Type 3 - Full access sampling and identification (Pre demolition/major refurbishment survey). A detailed report with colour photographs, findings and recommendations will be provided.
All our Asbestos Surveys are performed in accordance with the current guidance within MDHS 100 and HSG 248; The Analyst's Guide. AAS Ltd is UKAS accredited to ISO 17020 as a Type C Inspection Body for Type 1, 2 and 3 asbestos surveys.
